Governors Guard Commits to Navy
Wes Clark knows a thing or two about what it takes to make it in the Navy.
Having grown up as the son of a high ranking Naval officer, Clark has seen the ins and outs of a life in the armed services and apparently it has agreed with him as he recently made a commitment to attend the Naval Academy.
Clark relocated to New England for his sophomore season when his father was transferred to a local Naval base and opted to attend Governor’s Academy. During the span of his career he has proven himself to be one of the top point guards in the ISL and ranked among league leaders in both assists and made three-point field goals.
Clark has battled a variety of injuries over the past few years, most notably a recent shoulder injury that hampered him throughout the last year. It wasn’t until recently that doctors discovered the severity of the injury and Clark’s correlating toughness in being able to play through such pain.
Prior to enrolling at the Naval Academy, Clark will spend next year at Naval Academy Preparatory School, before joining the Navy team in the fall of 2011.
Navy is a division I athletic program that competes in the Patriot League.
