Buscetto Earns NE-10 Scholarship
Waterford High School and Connecticut Playmakers point guard Mike Buscetto made an early commitment to Southern New Hampshire earlier last week.
Buscetto is coming off a big junior season in which he was named second team All-New Haven Register, Conference Player of the Year, and First Team All-State.
SNHU offered him a scholarship last week while he was on their campus for an unofficial visit and it didn't take long for him to accept.
"I picked SNHU because of the location, quality of campus, coaching staff and winning environment," Buscetto told NERR. "I knew right away that the coaches and people at this school would steer me in the right direction outside of basketball."
Buscetto is a quick point guard with outstanding court vision, who averaged over 11 assists per game last season. Buscetto can score them in bunches as well with an outstanding outside shot.
He was also one of the standouts at the Elite 75 College Showcase in late June with a number of D2 coaches on hand.
Buscetto is a second generation NE-10 player joining his father who played for Quinnipiac (then NE-10) in the early 1990's and is the first player in Waterford history to earn a full basketball scholarship.
