Bede's list is somewhat unusual in today's day and age of recruiting because it wasn't simply a measurement of the highest level schools to recruit him. Far from it actually, Bede stopped publicizing the schools that tried to jump in following his performance in Las Vegas but nonetheless was the target of some of the most succesful programs in the country.
Instead, his final five reflects a list of schools where he would both be able to make an immediate contribution and also be able to grow into an important stable of the program.
Butler appears to be in especially good shape as they are currently the only school to have solidified a date for an official visit, scheduled for August 25th, while Virginia Tech head coach Buzz Williams will make the trip to New England for an in-home visit on September 11th. Bede has also stated he plans to visit Minnesota sometime in September.
Bede's performance in Las Vegas made national headlines during the final week of the July live period as he put the Rivals on his back at various stages and led them to a storybook ending, winning the nationally televised final of the Adidas Summer Championships to secure a perfect record of 21-0 during tournament play in the month of July and capture their fourth straight championship.
