Auguste Cuts List to Four

New Hampton rising senior Zach Auguste cut his list to four on Sunday while still leaving the door slightly ajar for other schools to get in.

Auguste said West Virginia, Florida, Marquette, and Georgia Tech (in no particular order) were his final four with one caveat.

“I’m leaving the fifth spot open just in case I get any new options,” he said.

Gone from his most recent list of nine schools are Virginia, Providence, Auburn, Notre Dame, and Clemson.  But Auguste says it may be possible for one of those five to make another run at it, “depending on how hard they recruit me.”

For now however, he will turn his attention to setting up official visits to all four of his final choices.  West Virginia is already in the books for the weekend of September 30th and Georgia Tech will come a week later while dates for trips to Florida and Marquette are still being set.

“All four schools are very similar,” Auguste said, noting the strength of their respective conferences and the quality of the head coaches, “and still very different at the same time.”

While Auguste has long been known as a high-major prospect, his performance during the second live of July’s live period sent his recruitment to another level altogether as he played a starring role for the Mass Rivals in both Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

Now Auguste said he hopes to have his final decision made prior to New Hampton’s season, which would allow him to sign in November’s early signing period.
