Anderson Opting Out of DePaul
Braeden Anderson, a six-foot-eight post-graduate forward from Wilbraham and Monson Academy, is set to receive his release from DePaul later this week less than two months after signing his National Letter of Intent in November.
Wilbraham and Monson head coach Chris Sparks confirmed the news on Monday morning.
"It's not official yet because the NCAA office is closed today," Sparks said, "but we have the papers and Braeden just needs to sign them and send them in."
Sparks said he believes Anderson had two primary reasons for his change of heart.
"I think it just came down to the fact that Braeden wanted to be closer to his family in Alberta," he said. "Secondly, they've added a couple more kids since he made his decision so he felt like this may not be the best opportunity anymore."
With the lack of quality big men still left available, Anderson should be just as heavily recruited the second time around as programs including California and Virginia have already expressed an interest.
Anderson is a six-foot-eight forward with incredible physical tools and a high upside down the road.
