Works Announces Commitment
Roxbury native Maurice Works began his high school career at East Boston before transferring to Lawrence Academy. When he returned to his home city this year and enrolled at Tech Boston, his goal was to win a state championship
Two weeks ago, he did just that when Tech won the MIAA division II championship. With one mission accomplished, he finalized plans for his future on Monday by committing to Franklin Pierce University in the Northeast 10 Conference.
Works announced his decision with a video on his twitter account.

An undersized but dynamic and explosive guard, Works has been one of the most exciting players in New England in recent years and proven his effectiveness on some of grassroots basketball's biggest stages. He played his entire AAU career with BABC where he collected numerous championships and was most recently a starting guard on a team that extended the program's streak of consecutive EYBL Finals appearances.
At Tech, he not only helped lead the school to the state championship but also earned Boston City League All-Star status for the second time in his career while also being named All-Scholastic by the Boston Herald and scoring over 17 points per game.
