Worcester’s McAllister Accepts Scholarship

Worcester Academy and New York Jayhawks guard Jordan McAlister made a verbal commitment to Pace University on Thursday.

McAlister is in New York native who is spent the last three years in Worcester, attracting various scholarship level recruitment in that time.

He took to his Twitter account to announce his decision.

“Jordan has been our most consistent player over the past three years,” said Worcester Academy head coach Jamie Sullivan. “He has a scorer's mentality, but has also really developed his game in a multitude of other ways. Jordan’s ability to rebound his position, defend multiple positions, and move without the ball have stood out this year especially.”

McAlister is a big power guard with a strong body. He’s known as a drive first score but has also developed a very reliable pull-up game and ability to get to the free-throw line.

This season, he average 13 points and five rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the floor while leading the Hilltoppers back to the post-season and earning All-New England honorable mention in NEPSAC AA.

He is the sixth member of Wooster’s 2019 class to finalize his recruitment enjoying his teammates who are headed to schools like Albany, Brandeis, Bowden, Babson and Regis.

McAllister is also the third local prep product to commit to Pace in the class of 2019 joining Hamden Hall’s Christian Adams and Canterbury’s Bryan Powell.
