WNY #E75 Recap - Forwards, Wings, and Bigs

The frontcourt full of wings, forwards and bigs caught the attention of many in the gym this past Friday. A group full of a lot of sizable prospects with varying skillsets, we were thoroughly impressed with the talent that we saw.

Here's who stood out.

Henry Fox, Western Reserve - The level of fluidity and size (6'8") that Fox brings to the court is undeniable, and a highly sought out trait by college basketball programs in the ever-changing game of basketball. The incoming Western Reserve Pioneer has left his mark in the city of Rochester of the course of his three seasons, and joins a program that won the National Prep Championship just over 15 months ago. Fox's shot creation abilities are remarkable as he can use his handle to create shots and convert. He's got athleticism that stands out a ton around the basket, and a ton of potential on the defensive end of the floor.

Dane Brown, Grand Island - The big wing is a lethal shooting threat from the perimeter with size to complement it. Brown has versatility to his shots as he can create space to knock them down, or simply load up off the catch and let it fly, hitting them at a high rate. His ability to rebound the ball stands out, as well as his finishing above the basket on drives stands out, and he threw down some dunks with force the other night. Brown has great potential heading into his junior year.

Quinn Wilson, Mt Zion Prep - Joining the Mid-Atlantic powerhouse at Mt. Zion this upcoming fall, the Rochester native has earned some buzz after a big winter. The mobile forward stands at 6'8" with a great blend of athleticism and length to complement. As he continues to work on his body and putting it all together, there is undoubtedly upside for him to channel in the near future.

Jackson Green, Penfield - The guard skills that Green possesses at his size are definitely impressive, as he's very comfortable working around the floor as a ballhandler and getting his teammates involved. He's a tough shotmaker that can score it at all three levels of the court. He plays off two feet with good balance and timing in the lane to get the shots he wants. Notable upside with his blend of size and skill as a rising junior.

Jayden Cromwell, Liverpool - The Liverpool High School forward's athleticism shines in the paint as he's able to finish in a variety of ways, including above the rim for dunks. He does a good job of timing cuts to the basket, and exposing lanes in the defense, while also being able to put the ball on the floor and get inside. Cromwell has some solid shotblocking skills to his game at 6'7" as well.

Jackson Birch, Pittsford Sutherland - Standing at a towering six foot nine, Birch has the size that a lot of colleges covet in their scouting. At his size, Birch has a developed post game with moves to impact the game facing away from the basket. The big man spaces the floor with a solid release on the ball, as well as rebounds at a high rate.

Gavin White, Batavia -    The forward's ability to make things happen in the post is notable. He has well-rounded footwork to drop and move on defenders to score in the post on either side of the basket. He can also serve as a playmaker on the block that rebounds the ball as well.

Abdul Keshinro, Sweet Home - Keshinro's athleticim is eyecatching, and one that allowed him to stand out in his performance at the Elite 75. He's got a plus wingspan which combined with his timing, led to a number of blocked shots. There was glimpses of outside shooting ability in his outing, as well as a bunch of takes to the basket.

Shamus George, Wilson - The Wilson High School big forward does a great job of using his body and size in the post to score at the basket. He has touch to his game, relocates to get position on his defenders, and does a goob job of positioning himself to secure rebounds.

Ethan McEntire, Penfield - McEntire's two-way play shined in his Elitre 75 outing the other night. The forward plays with a running motor which allows him to impact the game on both ends of the court. He made a bunch of blocks in transition, as well as finishing in the paint.

Porter Hammill, Irondequoit - The freshman forward has notable size already standing at 6'5". He's got a handle to his game, with some athleticism to go along with it. Hamill's outside game is starting to develop, and he's starting to become more of a threat on the boards.

Jameson Zitz, LeRoy - The 6'4" rising junior has a budding game to make note of. He does a good job of getting to the rim, and can attack the basket off the bounce. Zitz is able to rise up to finish dunks, or space the floor as a catch and shoot threat as well.

Joseph Insera, Bishop Timon - Insera plays the role of an undersized four man, but does so very well. He competes hard on the glass, racking up rebounds in bunches, and can approach double figures in that column. As a scorer, he's got some post moves and touch in the lane.

James Engelbach-Schafer, St. Marys - The wing out of the Buffalo area was a top standout for his squad on the night. Engelbach-Schafer is a perimeter scoring threat with size standing around 6'4", and a lengthy wingspan to match. He competes hard on the glass, gets in the passing lanes on defense, and does a nice job of creating for others on the court.

Julius Roman, New Fairfield - Roman's willingness to buy in on the defensive end was well noted by our scouts watching on. He plays with a ton of energy and a running motor, allowing him to fly all around the court. He contributed as a rebounder, and scored in the lane as well in his outing.

Tyler Behe, Webster Thomas - Behe has notable frontcourt size and length standing at 6'4", and looks to be continuing to develop as a forward. He showed a willingness to compete on defense and for rebounds, and working hard to get to the basket.
