Updated 2024 ME/NH/RI/VT Rankings

The class of 2024 saw a vast number of college prospects commit to play at the next level. In this article we’ll run through a handful of New England states.

Maine

Top Prospect

Silvano Ismail stands strong in the top spot. The crafty, all-around point guard will be taking his talents down south to Belmont Abbey and play at the Division II level after powering Bridgton Academy to a strong season.

Recent Riser

Wilber Mejia checks in at 3 as the Lee Academy product impressed throughout the season and is a strong JUCO prospect. Mejia brings impressive athleticism to finish around the basket and twitch with the ball in his hands.

New Additions

Bowdoin-commit Chris Simonds checks in at #13 as the 6’8” forward helped Falmouth to a 15-3 season with his two-way paint presence. Ashton Leclerc, a Roger Williams commit and Gorham High’s leading scorer led the team to a finals appearance in the MPA Class AA final. He checks in at 18. A pair of USM commits in Evans Sterling and Gabe Galarraga round out the top 20. Sterling surpassed the 1,000 point plateau this season while Galaragga shined for South Portland despite their lack of success.

New Hampshire

Top Prospect

Iowa state commit Nojus Indrusaitis averaged 14.5 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game as he led Brewster Academy to a top ten ranking in the country. The Bobcats joined the likes of Montverde, IMG and more in the Nike EYBL Scholastic this season and finished 5th in the regular season standings.

Recent Riser

There was no true riser in this state’s 2024 class, but it was loaded with talent. The top nine prospects are all committed to play at the Division One level this year, with Kimball Union’s Joshua DeCady being a riser last grassroots season.

New Additions

With Bedford High’s Luke Soden announcing he would be joining the reigning NEPSAC Class A champs in Phillips Exeter, there was an open spot in the top 20. Busche Academy and NE Storm forward Denis Wainaina fills the slot as the intriguing 6’9” prospect has picked up a wealth of D3 interest.

Vermont

Top Prospect

Arizona-commit Joson Sanon is the no-brainer pick here as the guard is the highest ranked prospect nationally in the New England class of 2024. Sanon is one of the best scorers in the country with his ability to rise up over taller defenders and convert shots with efficiency.

Recent Riser

Will Ameden was previously unranked, but after a strong season earned an appearance at #12 in the rankings. The 6’5” forward helped lead Burr & Burton to a playoff appearance this season and will be playing at Skidmore College this upcoming school year.

New Additions

Jayden James had an outstanding career at Archbishop Molloy and joined the Vermont Academy Catamounts in their championship season. The big guard was an integral part of their success defending multiple positions and being a solid contributor to the offense. He checks in at #4 in the state and is taking his talents to Pace University. Bangaly Berete comes in at #7 as the newcomer for VA was another big piece in their championship run. Berete will be taking his 3&D skills on the wing to Trinity College next season.

Rhode Island

Top Prospect

The Citadel-commit Graham Eikenberry leads the way for the 2024 rankings. The big man was a huge piece for the Saints this year and a standout at last year’s Elite 75 College Showcase. He packs a strong combination of soft hands in the post and touch around the basket.

Recent Riser

Nick Scandura helped Barrington High to a RIIL Final four appearance this past season and makes his debut in the rankings at #10. Scandura made his mark as a scoring threat from outside, particularly in the pick and roll to go along with impressive defensive versatility at 6’7”.

New Additions

A few D3 commits round out the 12-14 spots in the states top 15. At #12 Camden Dichiara will be moving on to UMass Dartmouth after helping Lincoln HS to a state championship. #13 goes to 6’6 forward Rex Zadrozny, a standout at the Elite 75 last year and now a Wheaton College-commit. Following Zadrozny at #14 is defensive-minded guard Neari Vasquez who will be playing at St. Joe’s (ME) this upcoming year. Unsigned 6’4” wing Logan Voelker closes out the ranking.
