Unsigned Senior Spotlight - Luke Bitters
In Rockland, Massachusetts - in the northern part of Plymouth County - there lies a small school named Calvary Chapel Academy.
During the 2018-19 season, CCA had the leading scorer in all of New England high school basketball, according to Max Preps, and that player was Luke Bitters.
Bitters re-wrote the record books during his career, finishing as the all-time leading scorer in school history and winning at-least a share of his team's MVP award for all four years of high school.
This year, Bitters was eager to prove himself against better competition and so he moved to South Kent School, a prep school with a prestigious basketball tradition.
An accomplished student in the classroom, Bitters has seen recruitment from a handful of good academic schools throughout the New England region and is looking for a place where he can challenge himself both academically and athletically.
"I'm an extremely hard-worker and will always give 100% on the court and in the classroom," he told NERR. "I'm a very high percentage shooter from deep and have a high basketball I.Q."

Recommendations
"Luke is not only the best player we have had, but also the hardest working. Every team we faced this year was focused on stopping Luke and he still averaged 28 points per game, which is impressive. As a four-year starter and three-year captain and MVP, he was a great leader."
- Kevin Hanlon, Head Coach, Calvary Chapel Academy
Scouting Report
Bitters averaged close to 30 points per game as a high school senior, so we know he's capable of playing a leading role offensively. For many players like that though, the transition to college is a difficult one as they have to adjust to much less volume, in terms of both shots and touches. After his prep year, Bitters has shown he's capable of making that adjustment easier than most though. His three-point shooting makes him a valuable floor-spacer while his high basketball I.Q. makes him a good decision-maker and passer. He's also an opportunistic playmaker who can rely on his experiences at CCA to get into the lane when the opportunity presents itself, and make plays for both himself and his teammates.
