Twitty Picks Stonehill

Stonehill head coach Chris Kraus got his man on Monday night when Brandon Twitty gave the Skyhawks a verbal commitment.

The long 6-foot-3 swingman had become a top priority for many of the top programs in the Northeast 10 Conference and was on an increasing amount of division I radars as well.

He was a steady contributor on a loaded Catholic Memorial team that took the MIAA state championship last winter and is now expected to become more of a focal point for his senior season.

This spring and summer, he not only led the Middlesex Magic in scoring but continued to expand his game in the process. Best known for his mid-range game, where he has both a lethal pull-up with a high release as well as a floater game, Twitty also began to impact the game in other ways as a playmaker.

'His best weapon is his mid-range pull-up jump-shot," Middlesex Magic head coach and director Michael Crotty Jr. said, "but he shot the ball very well from beyond the arc, attacked the rim and became a deadly pick and roll player as both a scorer and creator for his teammates."

Twitty is also an accomplished defender with the potential to be just as effective on that end of the floor at the next level. His long arms and quick feet are obvious assets but Crotty also credits his natural defensive instincts for his ability to pressure the ball and force turnovers.

Twitty joins Jeff Spellman to become the second Magic product in as many years to commit to Stonehill.

"Of the many Middlesex Magic players to choose the Northeast 10 Conference, I believe Brandon has as much potential as any to be an immediate contributor and a true star in the conference," Crotty said. "He is one of the best people I have had the chance to coach and I am thrilled to watch his college career unfold."
