St. Mike’s Gets Winchendon Guard

Newly appointed St. Mike's head coach Mike Harding earned his first commitment on Friday as Winchendon's post-graduate guard Michael Holton committed to the Purple Knights.

The Portland, Oregon native played to rave reviews during the first few months of his post-graduate season and had attracted the attention of a handful of division I coaches before going down with a broken thumb and missing the second half of the season.

The best word to describe Holton's game may be steady as he plays with great poise with the ball in his hands, makes good decisions, and knocks down open shots.  He also has good size and strength for a lead guard, which enables him to offer minutes at either of the backcourt positions.

Look for Holton to come right in and challenge for immediate minutes at the point guard position during his freshman season at St. Michael's and provide Harding with flexibilitly moving forward.

Winchendon advanced to the finals of the NEPSAC class A tournament this season and qualified for the National Prep Championship for the second consecutive season.
