South Kent Sniper to Yale
Yale is now three for three in the class of 2013, having landed all three of their commitments from the New England prep schools ranks.
The latest, South Kent swingman A.J. Edwards, gave a verbal commitment to Bulldogs’ head coach James Jones on Wednesday.
“A.J. is very excited to play for Coach Jones and become a part of the proud tradition at Yale,” South Kent head coach Kelvin Jefferson said on Thursday morning.
Edwards is a six-foot-six post-grad who came to South Kent by ay of Roosevelt High School in Seattle, Washington. Edwards had previously committed to Air Force in the class of 2012 but had generated recruitment from a host of Ivy, Patriot, and America East programs since arriving at South Kent.
“A.J. will be one of the best shooters we have ever had at South Kent,” Jefferson said on Thursday. “As a six-foot-six shooting guard, he is able to shoot over defenders and stretch the defense with accuracy.”
Edwards joins Northfield Mount Hermon’s Anthony Dallier and Choate’s J.T. Flowers in Yale’s 2013 recruiting class, giving Yale a trio of long and versatile perimeter players who can all play multiple positions.
