Silvera Makes his Pick
Putnam Science Academy and Mass Rivals guard Marty Silvera made a verbal commitment to St. Peter's earlier this week.
The pledge culminated what has been a tremendous final year, both in the grassroots and prep ranks, for the Worcester native.
He took to his twitter account to announce his decision.

Silvera is a smooth and savvy lead guard who has vastly improved his conditioning within the last year, dropping 28 pounds before his senior season.
He's played his entire grassroots career with the Mass Rivals where he won numerous championships and pushed his recruitment as high as the Atlantic 10 last spring.
"Marty has a great feel for the game, competes at a high level, and brings out the best in his teammates," said Mass Rivals director Vin Pastore. "He translates to winning."
Silvera helped Putnam Science do plenty of winning this year. He established himself as one of the team's leaders right away and had a huge performance at the National Prep Showcase to start the season. He went on to average 9.3 points, 4.3 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per game while the Mustangs ended up being declared co-National Champions.
"Marty deserves everything he's gotten to this point," said PSA head coach Tom Espinosa. "He did a 180 from last year to this year. The struggles from not playing and being mostly a practice player last year to a starter, leader, and one of the most consistent players this year. I'm really proud of this young man. He's made a lot of people proud, not just at Putnam Science, but also back home in Worcester."
Silvera is the sixth member of PSA's roster to earn a full scholarship and the fifth member of the Rivals 2020 class to commit to a D1 school.
