Reeves is a Friar

A.J. Reeves 2018

Providence College's Elite Camp couldn't have gotten off to a much better start on Sunday.

In fact, when Ed Cooley first began to address the campers he spoke of a commitment that the Friars had just received from a prospect who had attended elite camp for the last three years.

The Friars' pursuit of Reeves does indeed go back that far. It was clear from a very early age that Reeves would be one of the top prospects in New England's 2018 class, but his game has actually evolved quite a bit over the years.

Initially, his potential was based on being a budding guard with good size and ball-handling ability. A shooter, however, he was not.

Three years later and his frame has stretched to 6-foot-6 and, thanks in large part to long hours spent in the gym with Brimmer head coach Tom Nelson, Reeves has developed into not just one of the best shooters in New England, but the entire country after knocking down 46% of his attempts from behind the three-point line during the recent Adidas Gauntlet.

He was part of the Rivals team that won every major Adidas championship last year and began this year's Gauntlet with a perfect 8-0 record. He's been ranked in both the ESPN 60 and the ESPN 100 and earned offers from the likes of Virginia, Villanova, and Louisville along with numerous others before committing to Providence.

Below are some of his highlights from over the years.
