Quinnipiac Adds Two

Quinnipiac picked up their first two commitments of the spring recently with the verbal pledge of Evan Conti, a six-foot-three guard from Holy Cross High School in Flushing Meadow, and Nate Gause, a six-foot-two guard from Poughkeepsie High School .

Dubbed "one of the best kept secrets in New York" by recruiting expert Tom Konchalski, Conti is known as a versatile player with a throwback style game. A good rebounding guard who can also make shots from the perimeter but is also deceptively effective getting to the basket and finishing, Conti is also known for his work ethic an numberous intangibles.

Gause averaged 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game in his senior season and was awarded by being named second team all-state in class AA and Poughkeepsie Journal Player of the Year.  He is a long and athletic two-guard with a high upside and was one of the most coveted unsigned prospects left in New York.

Conti and Gause join Zaid Hearst and Ousmane Drame in Quinnipiac's 2011 class.
