Providence Lands Point Guard

Providence college earned a verbal commitment from five-foot-eleven point guard Kyan Anderson on Sunday, following his official visit to the school.

Anderson averaged 21 points and 6 assists last season as a junior at North Crowley High School in Texas and set a school record by scoring 48 points in a single game.  He ran with the Dallas Heroes this summer on the AAU circuit.

Described as a playmaking point guard who can create offense for both himself as well as his teammates, Anderson reportedly selected Providence over Oklahoma, USC, Bradley, and Ole Miss according to ESPN.

Anderson is the second player to commit to Providence in the class of 2011, joining six-foot-five swingman Markus Crider
