PAllen Stinnett Commits to Creighton
Despite being ranked in the top 100 players in the country by most scouting services and receiving offers from the likes of Iowa State and Seton Hall, P’Allen Stinnett has chosen to play in the Missouri Valley Conference.
P’Allen Stinnett has chosen Creighton and it is a steal for Head Coach Dana Altman. It shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise because Altman has developed his program into almost the Gonzaga of the Midwest in terms of their ability to recruit high-major talents and be a consistent contender for a top 25 ranking.
But with the graduation of some of their top players this May, including senior guard Nate Funk, next year looked like a potential rebuilding year. But the addition of Stinnett gives Altman and his staff another extremely talented player who can step right in and be a focal point of the team. And Stinnett is definitely capable of making an impact right away as we are talking about a passionate and energetic player who just flat out makes plays. He is very active on the defensive end of the floor creating turnovers that often ignite the fast break. On the offensive end he is a versatile player who is always in attack mode and can take his man off the dribble as well as knock down the jumper from behind the three-point line. Stinnett is so talented that Hoop Scoop Online founder and editor Clark Francis went so far as to call him a potential NBA player in a recent article.
Before arriving in Omaha, Stinnett will first help to lead a very talented Brewster Academy team this year as they try to make a run toward the NEPSAC Class A championship. Coach Jason Smith’s team will kick off their season in the National Prep Showcase at Assumption College on November 17-19.
