Notre Dame Guard Makes Pick

Notre Dame Prep guard Myles Davis put an end to his recruitment late Monday night with a verbal commitment to Xavier.

Davis had planned an announcement on national television last week if his Playaz Basketball Club was able to advance to the finals of the Nike Peach Jam but the announcement was delayed when they were turned away in the quarterfinals.

Xavier, Pittsburgh, and Georgetown were Davis' three leaders heading into the summer, but Musketeers' head coach Chris Mack was able to seal the deal early by personally following the sharp-shooter throughout the first ten days of the live period.

Davis is one of the top shooters in the entire country, known for his deep range and ability to make shots in bunches from behind the arc.  He's worked to diversify his game in the last year, becoming a more consistent ball-handler and developing his mid-range game, but will always be known first and foremost for the strength of his long distance shooting.

"It's a level where Myles can excel if he continues to develop his work ethic," Notre Dame Prep head coach Ryan Hurd said.  "His ability to shoot the ball seperates him from other wings in the class but there is a whole lot more to his game now."

Davis becomes the third player to commit to Xavier in the class of 2012 joining seven-foot-four center Sim Bhullar and six-foot-ten power forward James Farr
