New Hampshire Big Man Heading D2
The NHIAA has their first scholarship level basketball player in the class of 2012 as Trinity High School's Silvere Aluko has committed to Pfeiffeer University, a division II program in North Carolina, as was first reported by New Hampshire Notebook's Jeremy Leveille.
While Aluko has improved a great deal in recent years, he is still an undeniably raw project by college basketball standards. Nevertheless, he has definite upside with the type of physical tools which simply can't be taught. The six-foot-ten big man not only has great size but also runs the floor and blocks shots.
At Pheiffer, he'll be starring for Jeremy Currier, a head coach with New Hampshire roots of his own. Curry is a New Hampshire native who began his college coaching career at Daniel Webster College after playing at Pinkerton Academy and Edicott College.
Aluko has helped Trinity reach the semifinals of the NHIAA Division I state tournament in each of the last two seasons and is the first New Hampshire product to commit to Currier.
