New England’s Notable Performances

New England’s notable performances is back for 2011 as NERR will once again bring you the best performances from around the region on a weekly basis.  Our first edition of the year is devoted primarily to public school players as the prep school league was enjoying their final days of vacation last week before getting back to action this weekend.  Here’s a look at who stood out:

Rhode Island

Player of the Week – Michael Carter-Williams, St. Andrew’s – The Syracuse bound guard stole the show at last week’s National Prep Classic in California, leading the Saints to a third place finish and outplaying the likes of Jabari Brown and Julius Randle in the process.  Going head to head on both ends of the floor, Carter-Williams scored 28 points against Brown while holding him to just three field goals.  It was more of the same against Randle as the nation’s top ranked sophomore scored only five buckets while Carter-Williams lured him into three changes and again put 20+ on the board himself.
