NERR-TV Frosh/Soph Virtual Showcase - PJ James

Bridgeport Prep sophomore PJ James was well on his way to having a breakout season, putting up almost 18 points and 6 assists per game before he was sidelined with an MCL and meniscus tear.

While the recovery from the injury could take as long as four months, James isn't deterred and already making plans to star with We-R1 on the Under Armour Association.

Here's a look at everything you need to know about a player who is bound to continue taking his game to new levels this spring and summer.

Recommendation

"PJ is of the mold of Kyle Lowry and Posh Alexander. He is pound for pound one of the toughest players I've ever met. He's very smart, extremely skilled, and one of the great leaders that I have ever had the pleasure of coaching. This guy is a coach's dream and will be a big-time player over the next two years and a high-major scholarship guy."

Scout's Take

What James lacks in size or sheer explosiveness, he more than compensates for with a well-developed skill package of individual offense. He has all the main fundamentals with the ball in his hands - he handles it well, makes open three-pointers, and mid-range dribble pull-ups though. There's also an added layer of sophistication to his arsenal thought as he makes shots on the move, has a developed floater game, and can both change direction and create space while staying low and fluid with his handle. In short, he has a full assortment of playmaking tools.
