NDP’s Russo Heading D2

Notre Dame Prep post-graduate swingman Charlie Russo made a verbal commitment to Southern New Hampshire on Monday, announcing his decision via his twitter account.

SNHU is a division II school in the highly competitive Northeast 10 Conference that has recruited the prep schools heavily in recent years with ten players on their current roster having come from the prep ranks.

“I think the coaching staff at Southern New Hampshire, in particular Jeff Gore, have done a fantastic job of recruiting a kid that is going to be an incredible addition to their campus community,” Notre Dame Prep head coach Ryan Hurd said.

Russo is a native of Manlius, New York and starred on both the basketball court and football field during his high school career. He’s been a key contributor for the Crusaders this season, providing versatility and a wealth of intangibles off the bench while also proving he’s capable of playing multiple positions.

He becomes the first member of this year’s Notre Dame Prep squad to accept a full scholarship.
