Krygier Stays In Connecticut

Earlier in April, Class of 2026 wing Landon Krygier announced his commitment to Sacred Heart. He received the offer at the beginning of the month and made his decision to join the Pioneers public just 13 days later, on April 15.

The 6-foot-5 wing from Notre Dame-West Haven (NDWH) is currently playing for the Middlesex Magic and is the first commitment from the Magic’s Class of 2026.

During the 2024–25 season with the NDWH Green Knights, Krygier averaged 15.5 points and 5.8 rebounds, helping lead the team to its second straight CIAC championship. He also shot 40% from 3-point range, offering a premier perimeter threat.

As a sophomore, Krygier helped lead NDWH to their first CIAC state championship, completing a 28-0 season with a victory against St. Bernard’s. Along the way, he hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to send the state semifinal game into overtime.

NERR spoke with NDWH assistant coach Nick DeFeo about the decision and the impact Landon Krygier has had on the team. DeFeo emphasized Krygier’s commitment, saying, “Landon is a tremendous player who makes major contributions wherever they’re needed. He’s focused solely on winning. He’s a team-first guy, and we’re happy to have him with us.”

Regarding the next steps in Krygier’s career, DeFeo offered insight into the type of player Sacred Heart is getting: “SHU will be getting a hard working kid dedicated to making his team better.”

The Pioneers are coming off the heels of a 15-18 record through the 2024-25 campaign, finishing as the No. 6 seed in the MAAC. The Pioneers won their first-round tournament game before falling to Merrimack in the quarterfinals. Krygier will have the opportunity to help push the program further in the coming years.

At Sacred Heart, Krygier is set to join former NDWH player Mekhi Conner. As a freshman, Conner earned All-MAAC Rookie Team honors, averaging 6.6 assists and 8.1 points per game.
