Killyan Toure Commits to Iowa State
Over the weekend, Brewster Academy guard Killyan Toure announced his commitment to the Iowa State Cyclones of the Big 12 conference.
Toure, a recent arrival to New England, made his way to Brewster Academy from France less than two months ago. Despite his short time in New Hampshire, the 6'4" guard has already generated significant buzz due to his standout performances in open gyms.
Adam Finkelstein, founder of NERR and 247Sports Director of Scouting, put out a tweet yesterday stating, "Earlier this weekend, Iowa State landed another @BrewsterHoops product in Killyan Toure, who recently arrived from France and is a very strong candidate to crack the national rankings when they are next updated."
Toure’s play certainly backs up this early praise, as he showcases tremendous potential at the guard position. Known for his elite athleticism, Toure makes an impact on both ends of the floor. His motor stands out as he plays with high energy, timing plays well on defense, forcing turnovers and jumpstarting transition opportunities.
Offensively, Toure is a speedy slasher. He finishes through contact with great touch around the rim and displays impressive efficiency in the paint. His explosiveness, coupled with his defensive intangibles, make him a valuable two-way guard prospect.
Though new to the Brewster Academy Bobcats, Toure brings high-level experience from overseas.
He recently played for ASVEL Basket Lyon-Villeurbanne's U21 team in the French ProA U21 league, averaging 10.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists over 22 games. Beyond his experience in France, Toure has also represented Ivory Coast in international play, and he earned the 2023 Defensive MVP honors at the Basketball Without Borders camp in Europe.
With one season to play in Wolfeboro, Toure will be a must-see player as he continues to develop his game in one of the nation's top high school basketball programs.
