Kieran Mullen Chooses Pitt

Canadian big man Kieran Mullen recently announced his commitment to Pittsburgh. The 2025 center from St. Thomas More plans to redshirt his freshman year.
The North Vancouver native made his decision public on the afternoon of April 28, 2025, after receiving offers from schools such as Seattle and James Madison, among others.
The newest Pittsburgh Panther is a mobile center with the ability to knock down open perimeter jumpers and roll aggressively to the rim. These skills will make him invaluable in the pick-and-roll at the next level and helped lead St. Thomas More to a runner-up finish at the National Prep Championship this year.
Mullen transferred to St. Thomas More for the 2024–25 season and showcased his versatility, shooting 31% from deep and averaging 1.3 blocks per game.
While in North Vancouver, Mullen played for Handsworth Secondary School and competed on the AAU circuit with Canada Elite. He also trained with the 3D Basketball Academy.
The New England Recruiting Report caught up with the 7-footer to discuss his decision. Mullen expressed his appreciation for Vancouver Sports Club, Canada Elite, and 3D Basketball. He also thanked his parents for their sacrifices, along with his coaches and teammates at St. Thomas More.
When asked about why Pittsburgh felt like the right fit, Mullen explained, “I chose Pitt because it felt like the right fit. After talking to the coaching staff I felt very confident that Pittsburgh was the school I wanted to go to.”
He also spoke about his goals as he prepares for the next level.
“My future goals in basketball are to be the best version of myself possible, I want to be able to look back in the future and be proud of how far I took i t and I get the opportunity to make this my profession even better.”
Mullen will join a loaded 2025 recruiting class at Pittsburgh, alongside fellow commits Omari Witherspoon and Henry Cody Lau.
