Kent’s Boursiquot Makes Pick

Kent School post-graduate Maxime Boursiquot became the most recent member of New England's 2016 class to come off the board on Thursday when he made a commitment to Northeastern.

The Canadian native had accumulated 10 division I offers during his year in the New England prep ranks, including three in the Ivy League. He took two visits this spring before deciding on Northeastern.

"In the end, he was most comfortable with the players and the coaching staff at Northeastern," Kent head coach Jason Couloumbe said, "and it certainly represents the combination of high level academics and basketball that he was looking for."

Boursiquot made his presence felt quickly this season in New England, helping Kent assert themselves as one of the top teams in Class A, and going on to be named First Team All NEPSAC. A six-foot-five forward with a six-foot-eleven wingspan, a tremendously powerful upper body and high level motor, Boursiquot is a unique prospect and good late pick-up for the Huskies.

With a college ready body and the ability to play, and defend, multiple positions, he should be able to compete for minutes right away even in the highly competitive Colonial Athletic Conference.

He joins Jack Stevens, who signed with Holy Cross in November, to become the second member of Kent's 2016 class to commit to a division I school.
