Joba and Klapper Headline Maine’s 2023 Rankings
We will be releasing our updated 2023 state rankings this week. Maine is the next state up.
Bridgton Academy products Seth Joba and Miles Klapper come in at the top two spots. Joba, headed to Vermont, is a southpaw big man with inside-out skill and deceptive leaping ability in space. Klapper, bound for Idaho, is a lefty guard with size, shot-making, and toughness.
Elliot Bouchard from Bonny Eagle is at five and Jose Batista from Hyde School is at seven. The big man’s imposing size, post game, and long-range touch made him a constant matchup problem in the MPA. Batista is an attacking wing with explosiveness and rebounding ability.
Silvano Ismail from Cheverus and Theo Stefan from Lee Academy earned the 10 and 11 spots. Ismail is a crafty guard who can score both from deep or in the mid-range. Stefan is a big man with upside stemming from his 7’0 size and flashes of face-up ability.
Will Davies from Thornton Academy and Brady Saunders from Brewer round out the top 15. Davies won Gatorade State Player of the Year after leading Thornton to the Maine Class AA Regional Final. Saunders, committed to Southern Maine, is a smooth shooting guard who can get hot in a hurry from long-range.
