Isaiah Henderson Chooses Siena

Yesterday, Kimball Union Academy & City Rocks wing Isaiah Henderson announced his commitment to Siena College of the MAAC.

The 2025 prospect is entering his second season in New Hampshire after beginning his high school career in his hometown. Henderson initially played at Corning Painted Post High School before spending a season at La Lumiere, followed by a transfer to the NEPSAC.

Since arriving in New England, Henderson has reached new levels in his game and the recruitment had followed. Almost one year ago, during fall open gym season, he picked up his first scholarship offer from Quinnipiac.

Subsequently, he received offers from Le Moyne, Maine, Siena, Boston University, Merrimack, Manhattan, Marist, Vermont and New Hampshire extended him offers, with the latter two reportedly coming in the last couple of weeks.

He earned recognition as an Honorable Mention in his first season at KUA, but in the spring elevated his play on a sneaky City Rocks team led by fellow New Hampshire prep school prospects, Mason Blackwood and Keyshuan Tillery. Blackwood and Tillery recently announced their commitments to play Division One basketball at Penn State and Cincinnati, respectively.

The City Rocks made it to Peach Jam, where they eventually finished 14-6 for the entirety of the EYBL season. Henderson finished things off shooting 47% from the three-point line on 3.5 attempts and 6.2 points per game.

Standing at 6’5”, the Upstate New York native brings some guard skills to the wing position with a crafty handle on the ball and playmaking ability. He is a clear shooter, excelling as an off-ball catch-and-shoot threat. When he drives to the basket, he can absorb contact and finish at the rim with his impressive athleticism, oftentimes flushing down dunks.

In choosing Siena, Henderson will play under newly named Head Coach Gerry McNamara, who is known for his player development skills.

A native of Pennsylvania, McNamara takes on his first collegiate head coaching role after nearly two decades at Syracuse, where he most recently served as Associate Head Coach. During his time at Syracuse, McNamara won a national championship as a freshman starter and contributed to two Final Four appearances as a member of the coaching staff.

With another season left to play in his high school career, Henderson has more time to continue to develop his game before entering the collegiate ranks.
