Introducing Sidney Wilson
Over the course of the next few weeks the New England Recruiting Report will be profiling some of the most notable prospects set to arrive in the region this fall as part of the incoming prep school class.
Brewster Academy is preparing to welcome a host of new players to make up their 2016-2017 squad including local products like Makai Ashton-Langford and Aaron Wheeler.
Another name that local fans might be familiar with is Sidney Wilson, who will be joining the Bobcats' 2018 class.
Wilson has been one of the most well-known names around New York City basketball since his arrival at the high school level. He's an absolutely explosive athlete and consequent YouTube sensation who promises to be the star of The Academy's annual lay-up line dunk show next season.
The 6-foot-7 forward previously starred at St. Raymond's High School in the city and is also a staple of New Heights' program on the Under Armour Association. In fact, local New England fans got their first looks at Wilson last year as he competed in both the Spalding Hoophall Classic as well as the Northeast Hoops Festival.
On the recruiting front, Wilson had accumulated a plethora of suitors as part of the 2017 class and has seen his stock explode since his announced reclassification with Texas, Louisville, Memphis, UNVL, USC and Seton Hall all extending recent offers.
Below are some of his highlights from the recent Fab 48 Showcase in Las Vegas:
