Incoming NMH Post-Grad Commits to Harvard

Incoming Northfield Mount Hermon post-graduate Sam Silverstein made a verbal commitment to Harvard earlier this week.

A graduate of New Trier High School in Illinois, Silverstein's senior season was cut short after breaking his wrist in February. His team was 22-3 prior to his injury but won just one of their five remaining games according to the Chicago Tribune.

Now fully healthy, the 6-foot-6 wing starred with Fundamental U on the grassroots circuit and is poised to be an immediate contributor for NMH this coming season.

“Harvard got out in front on Sam,” NMH head coach John Carroll said. “Sam is a multi-positional, multi-skilled player who is six-six and still growing. He can impact the game in many ways on both ends of the floor. He will play all over the floor and will be making decisions with the ball in his hands for NMH this coming year. I think his game translates even better to the college level, specifically Harvard and the Ivy League. He has tremendous upside.”

Silverstein becomes the 9th NMH product to commit to Harvard in the last 12 years and the 36th to commit to an Ivy League school.

Below are some of his highlights from the Under Armour Finals in July.
