Ike Heading to Dartmouth
It was only a few short months ago that the New England Recruiting Report profiled Milton Academy senior forward Ikemefuna Ngwudo.
Coming off a long battle with a foot injury, Ngwudo was in the final weeks of his rehabilitation and just about to resume full five and five workouts.
Three months later and the senior forward is now back to full strength, but his months of rehabilitation made a lasting impact, especially when it came to his recruitment.
Ngwudo made a verbal commitment to Dartmouth on Saturday, rewarding the school who showed him the most loyalty throughout the last year.
“They were the first school to commit to me and stuck with me throughout my injury,” Ngwudo told the New England Recruiting Report on Saturday evening, “and they have consistently come to watch me play more than any other school.”
Ngwudo missed all but one tournament on last spring and summer’s grassroots circuit but came up the ranks with the Expressions Elite program.
This season, a healthy Ngwudo promises to be one of the top players in Class A of the NEPSAC, and should have Milton Academy right in the thick of the race for the Class A championship.
Ngwudo becomes the third player to commit to Dartmouth in the class of 2013, joining Northfield Mount Hermon point guard Michael Fleming and Eli Harrison, another six-foot-five forward from Sisters High School in Oregon.
