Hoop Mountain Fall Classic - Event Recap

The annual Hoop Mountain Spring Classic took place on Thursday night, tipping off a busy weekend in New England. Players from across the northeast converged on Wheaton College for an opportunity to prove themselves to college coaches. The following players stood out:

T.J. Rountree (Hamden Hall, 2017)- The junior guard was very aggressive in attacking the basket.  Roundtree has a good pull-up game that keeps defenders honest.  He has a quick first step and, in addition to his midrange, shot the ball well from 3-point range.

Jake Kakar (Lexington Christian Academy, 2017)- The 6'3 guard shot the ball very well from outside, showing great range on his 3's that will make him a big-time weapon for the Boston Warriors this upcoming spring and summer.

Brian Fobbs (Bishop Kearny, 2016)- Making the trip from Rochester, NY, Fobbs is a powerful athlete who can rise up with little space around him.  He turned heads in the gym with some of his dunks.  He works hard on the offensive glass and penetrates the lane under control.

Jameson Delross (Middletown HS, 2017)- The Rhode Island native has great size for a wing and can finish above the rim.  The 6'7 forward excels in the open court, but showed an improving skill set in the half court, as well.

Anthony Kelley (Commonwealth Academy, 2018)- The point guard is a blur in the open court, and loved to push the ball here at the Spring Classic.  He is a threat to drive to the hoop and finish, or set his teammate up for an open shot.

Kyle Henderson (Algonquin, 2018)- The lefty shot well from the point guard position, but his change of speed off the dribble was something we have not seen recently from Henderson.  The shifty guard finishes through contact at an exceptional rate.

Aino Mayo (St. Andrew's, 2016)- The guard from St. Andrew's can really shoot the ball and showed him playmaking ability here at Wheaton.  Mayo will be a great late addition for a program because of his work ethic and his ability to be coached.

Chad Dicenzo (Pingree School, 2017)- Playing sick, the gritty lefty point guard had his trademark ability to deliver the ball where it needs to be on display.  Dicenzo's midrange game is improving, too.

Rickardo Byfield (Redemption Christian Academy, 2016)- The 6'4 forward showed outstanding range on his jumper and was consistently nailing deep 3's all night long.

Matt Panacopoulos (Reading HS, 2018)- Panacopoulos was in control on offense, always making the right pass to his teammates.

Nemanja Nedimouic (Redemption Christian Academy, 2016)- The 6'7 Serbian is active on the offensive glass and runs the floor very well.

Kevin Vanderhorst (Lawrence HS, 2016)- Vanderhorst is a smooth 6'2 combo guard who did a great job of finishing at the rim through contact.
