Hartford Scores Guard
The University of Hartford landed their third commitment late Sunday night when six-foot-three guard Dustin Clarke from Avery County High School in Newland, North Carolina verballed to head coach John Gallagher.
Clarke averaged 26 points, 6 assists, and 5 steals per game as a junior and was named North Carolina 2A Player of the Year in the process. Nevertheless, he was still under-recruited for most of the summer, playing for a relatively unknown local AAU team and consequently flying under the radar.
Clarke's recruitment began to take off this fall with offers coming from leagues as high as the CAA, but the Hawks still scored a commitment from the talented scoring guard who is deceptively athletic, at his best attacking with his dribble, but also capable of knocking down deep threes according to ESPN.
