H.M. Invitational - Saturday Recap

With the Division I live period ending last week the focus is now back on Division II and III recruiting. Hoop Mountain's Invitational tournament has a great mix of talent and had over 70 Division II and III coaches in attendance on Saturday.

Here are players who impressed us today in Foxboro, MA

Schadrac Casimir, USAD - The talented guard put on a show Saturday scoring at will and getting his teammates involved. Casimir was able finish at the rim as well as knock down perimeter jumpers.

Thomas Whipple, CT N'Stars - Whipple is a slashing point guard who was unstoppable in his Saturday pool games. He played with tremendous intensity on both ends and scored a team high 38 points over his first two games.

Matt Staubi, Team Frenji - The super high IQ point guard was dynamic on Saturday and proved to be the ultimate team player. In his first pool game he dished out 8 assists and took 3 charges. Once again, Staubi proved he is a winner.

Chima Azuonwa, Team Frenji - The 6'11" post showed flashes of brilliance. While he is still raw, his ability to block shots and finish at the rim are tremendous. In a win of Bay State Magic he recorded 13 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.

Lucian Fortier, Western CT Warriors - This hybrid forward showed his ability to knock down the three point shot as well as finish inside. At 6'4" he proved to be a mismatch for opposition.

Alex Rubin, ABC - This Rubin has no relation to the team's head coach, but he is just as intense. Rubin dished out assists all day long making his team better. He will be a nice addition to the Choate Rosemary Hall team next season.

Philip Thomas, Ben Stone, and Adam Leclerc, CT N’Stars – This trio was tremendous for the Northstar's 16u team. Thomas, Stone, and Leclerc all averaged double figures in the team’s victories on Saturday.

Freddi Oliveria, Boston Spartans - Olivera turned the heads of many coaches showing both a solid offensive skill set and tremendous motor.

Joey Downes, RI Hawks - The 5'9" point guard did a tremendous job distributing and knocking down mid range jumpers on Saturday. Downes' toughness and high IQ makes him a great leader on the floor.
