Gasperini Calls It
Brimmer & May big man Mark Gasperini announced his verbal commitment to American University on Wednesday.
Gasperini, who earned scholarship offers all the way up to the Atlantic 10 Conference, had previously cut his list to five and taken subsequent visits to Drexel, American, Brown and San Diego.
He took to his twitter account to announce his decision yesterday morning:
Happy to announce that I have committed to American University for the class of 2016! #Eagles #WAMIY

Brimmer & May head coach Tom Nelson took to his twitter account as well, reminiscing about meeting a 6-foot-7 big man with goggles some three years ago, how he came to repeat his sophomore year at Brimmer & May, landed his first division I offer a year later and slow but surely continued to improve with each passing month.
Truly, few players in New England have improved as much as Gasperini in the last few years as he is now a 6-foot-9 center who can score the ball with his back to the basket, stretch opposing defenses out to the three-point line and is continuing to get more assertive.
On the AAU circuit, Gasperini ran with the Mass Rivals during the Adidas Gauntlet.
Below is a look back at Gasperini from two years ago, care of Ballas TV, when he first arrived at Brimmer & May.
