ESPN Announces National Rankings

ESPN Recruiting Nation has announced updated rankings in the national classes of 2014, 2015, and 2016 and a number of local New England products once again made the cut.  

Wilbraham & Monson big man Goodluck Okonoboh has remained one of the top 25 players in the country while Brewster Academy forward Isaac Copeland is now close to joining him after making a notable jump in recent months.  

Kimball Union Academy forward Abdul-Malik Abu is right there at #32 while Kaleb Joseph has again solidified his spot within the top 50, settling in as the 49th best prospect in the country.  Fairfield Prep big man Paschal Chukwu comes in next at 61st while the Brewster Academy tandem of Jonah Bolden and Jared Terrell comes in at 70 and 79 respectively.

In the class of 2015, Cushing Academy guard Jalen Adams made his national debut in the 46th overall position.  Adams 32 point performance at the recent Hoophall Classic solidified both his first appearance in the rankings as well as his subsequent offer from Kansas.  New Hampton forward Tyler Lydon is in at 57, also making his debut on the national rankings, after having committed to Syracuse earlier this fall.

Only 25 prospects are ranked with the class of 2016, but that was all that Sacred Heart’s Mustapha Heron needed, as he appears in the 19th spot, defending his position among the top players in the country.

ESPN also provided an early preview of the 2017 class, profiling ten prospects who appear poised to lead the group, while also noting five others who could play their way to prominence. Prout forward Tomas Murphy was among the 15 players listed.
