Diallo Takes Part in NBA Combine
It was only a few short months ago that Hamidou Diallo was beginning the season for Putnam Science Academy.
One of the top prospects in the national class of 2017, Diallo made the decision to enroll at Kentucky mid-year but chose to red-shirt for the remainder of the season with most expecting him to be getting a jump start on the 2017-2018 season.
As it turns out, Diallo might never play an actual game for Kentucky.
A few weeks ago he declared for this year's NBA Draft without hiring an agent, a decision that over 100 other college players made in order to be able to go through the process of participating in the draft combine (if invited) and work-out for interested NBA teams, and still retain the possibility of returning to college for next season.
The combine began in Chicago on Thursday and Diallo wasn't just invited but had a huge day as he recorded the second highest vertical leap in the event's history at 44.5 inches (an inch and a half longer than Vince Carter's coming out of North Carolina) along with a 6-foot-11 wingspan.
Below is some footage from day one of the combine.
