New England Recruiting Report | Monday, August 22nd, 2016

Hamidou Diallo's big summer continued this weekend with one last chapter at the Under Armour Elite 24.

Played outside on Pier 2 of Brooklyn Bridge Park under the backdrop of the Statue of Liberty and the New York City skyline, Diallo was one of six players who earned MVP honors in a 140-134 overtime win for his "Team Drive" over "Team Clutch."

The Putnam Science guard finished with 22 points on 11-17 shooting from the floor to go along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals and almost came up with the game winning block at the end of regulation before it was ruled goaltending.

Of course, Diallo also electrified his hometown New York City crowd with a series of highlight finishes. Below are some of his video highlights from NERR's Luc Smith on Twitter:

Diallo shared MVP honors with Trevon Duval (25 points and 9 assists) and Zion Williamson (23 points on 10-10 FG and 6 rebounds) from Team Drive. Team Cluth MVP winners were Isaiah Washington (36 points), Austin Wiley (22 points and 12 rebounds), and Jalek Felton (16 points, 4 assists and 3 steals).

The MVP award caps what has been nothing short of a huge summer for Diallo who led the Rens to the quarterfinals of the Peach Jam in their first year in the EYBL, made the u18 USA Basketball team and then won a gold medal at the FIBA Americas Championships.
