Desrosiers Makes Decision

Northfield Mount Hermon rising senior forward Jerome Desrosiers made a verbal commitment to Princeton on Wednesday, bringing an early end to his recruitment.

Desrosiers is originally from Canada but recently completed his third season at NMH where he was a part of their NEPSAC AAA championship run this season.

He’s had a huge spring on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit with the New England Playaz, averaging over 12 points and nearly 6 rebounds per game while shooting 59% from the floor and sitting near the top of numerous efficiency categories within the Gauntlet.

Most recently he helped lead the Playaz to the championship at the Adidas Memorial Day Classic in Atlanta.

Princeton had been recruiting Desrosiers since last spring but intensified their efforts in recent weeks following his unofficial visit to their campus at the end of April.

“It just felt like home,” Desrosiers said. “When I ran with their guys it felt like I was already part of the team.”

NMH head coach John Carroll echoed those same sentiments.

“Jerome fits Princeton in every way,” Carroll said. “He’s an outstanding citizen, student and athlete. He is in constant pursuit of excellence both on and off the court.”

Desrosiers is a combo-forward, capable of playing either the three or the four spots, with a college ready body. He plays with a strong motor and has a mature floor game. He’s physical, smart, understands how to operate in offensive structure and a good rebounder.

He joins Kellan Grady (Davidson) to become the second member of NMH’s 2017 class to commit to a division I school.

Desrosiers becomes the 25th NMH product to commit to an Ivy League school in the last ten years.
