Commitment Catch Up (4/16/26)
Treyvon Miller, St. Pauls School (NH)
Committed to Wesleyan University (CT)
Treyvon Miller is a very versatile 6'7 forward who has a strong, physical frame and the ability to impact the game in multiple ways. Miller is coming off a season where he was named Lakes Region All-Star Class A Honorable Mention this past year at St. Paul’s. He is very good at using his size to get deep position in the paint, consistently finishing through contact over bigger defenders and dominating the boards as a consistent double-double threat. Aside from his skillset, he partners it with a high motor and toughness that any program would love to have. Miller has consistently grown his game on the offensive end, proving his ability to step out and hit perimeter shots, while also attacking closeouts with high-level athleticism. He has shown solid vision out of the post, making the right play when defenses collapse on him. At Wesleyan, Miller’s physicality, rebounding, and overall versatility should have an immediate impact.
Aboubakar Nimaka, Malden Catholic (MA)
Committed to Wheaton College (MA)
Aboubakar Nimaka is a 6’4 forward with elite athleticism, length, and two-way ability. A proven winner, closing out his high school career as a 2x state champion, Nimaka has been a crucial piece to Malden Catholic’s success with his high-motor and relentless downhill attack. A player who just seems to always make winning plays, he has played AAU with Mass Rivals and continued to grow against high-level competition. Nimaka consistently uses his athletic ability to attack the rim, his explosiveness, partnered with his ability to finish through contact make him a major threat in transition and on the offensive glass. His energy is contagious and he brings it on both ends of the floor. He has even displayed an ability to operate out of the post with touch and solid footwork that make him more than just a downhill scorer. His two-way ability is anchored by his physicality and shot-blocking ability which make a big-time presence in the paint despite being a wing. His athleticism and motor alone lead me to believe he will have an immediate impact at Wheaton College.
Jacob Klass, Beverly HS (MA)
Committed to Salem State University (MA)
Not only was Jacob Klass the best player on a talented Beverly squad, he became the program's all-time leading scorer this past season, forever putting his name in the Beverly record books. Klass is a 5’11 lefty guard who has grown his game year in and year out. Klass is viewed as a go-to scorer who can shoot the ball at a high level. He has developed a lightning quick release that allows him to get his shot off both the bounce and when sprinting off screens. The threat of Klass shooting off a screen alone has opened up his game, Klass gets himself easy looks at the rim with cuts when opponents would overplay any kind of screening action. He has also proven to be an efficient and effective ball handler when operating in the pick and roll, he uses his tight handle, elite acceleration, and shiftiness to get downhill and create openings for himself. When he gets into the paint, he seeks out contact and finishes through it, attacking with a purpose every time. A true talent at the guard position who will look to make his mark on the Salem State program right away.
Harryns Cantave, Brooks School (MA)
Committed to Nichols College (MA)
Harryns Cantave is a versatile big standing at 6’6, who impacts the game in multiple ways including his toughness and athleticism. A true hard-nosed player, he does the small things that every coach looks for in a collegiate player, from a relentless attack on the glass, to diving for 50/50 balls, setting solid screens, or making the extra pass from the post, he does it all. He is constantly finishing above the rim, his great hands make him a lob threat from the dunker spots. His touch from inside 10 feet is legit, and he combines it with some very solid footwork. Cantave was effective with Above the Rim Elite, playing an entire season with the 17U team despite being 16 at the time. Cantave is just as good on the other side of the ball, his length and mobility make him a switchable big that can guard multiple positions on the floor. He’s an excellent shot blocker with a high motor. Cantave will look to step into the Nichols program and use his versatility to have a positive impact right away.
Javier Lopez, Central Catholic HS (MA)
Committed to Brandeis University (MA)
Javi Lopez had a historic career at Central Catholic and finished as the school’s all-time leading scorer, with over 1,900 career points, making him undeniably one of the best MIAA players ever. Lopez can pour it on from all three levels and despite opposing teams’ focus clearly being to stop him, he still had an incredible season scoring the ball. Despite falling short in the state championship game, Lopez kept his team in it with 13 of his 30 points coming in the 4th quarter alone. With good size at 6’2 for a combo guard, it is the elevation he gets on his jumper that truly makes it difficult to affect his shot both off the dribble and off the catch. He is not only a threat from the outside, he is extremely physical in getting downhill and drawing contact. A 3x captain, MVC Division I Player of the Year, Lopez’s resume speaks for itself as he joins Brandeis and looks to continue to have a positive impact on any program he joins.
Cayden Smith, Springfield Commonwealth (MA)
Committed to Eastern Connecticut State University (CT)
Cayden Smith is a true pass-first point guard with good size and length. He is able to control the pace of the game with his IQ and decision-making. Smith has racked up assists everywhere he has played, constantly getting his teammates involved, displaying his elite vision, and leading his offense to elite production. When it comes to scoring the rock himself, he has made tremendous strides improving his shooting and overall scoring ability. Despite his passing ability, he keeps a balance of passing and scoring that keeps defenses honest. On the defensive end, Smith jumps passing lanes and generates fast break opportunities for him and his team. His size, playmaking, and continuously growing scoring abilities give him a great opportunity to step in and contribute right away at Eastern Connecticut.
