Coleman’s Stock Rising

Lee Academy’s senior center Keith Coleman is finding himself the subject of a wide range of recruitment in recent weeks.

With all ten of the highest ranked centers in the country having already committed, a variety of high-majors programs are searching for qualified big men and Coleman’s stock has risen as a result.

“He’s a hot commodity right now,” Lee Academy head coach Andrew Papaefthemiou said last week.

Coming into his senior season, Coleman was hearing the most from mid-major programs like VCU and Siena, but heading into 2011 he is now getting calls from some of the most prestigious programs in America.

“Florida wants him to visit, Texas called recently, Seton Hall has offered, and Cincinnati is very interested,” Papaefthemiou said.  “It seems like almost every school you could think of at every level [has called].”

While Coleman remains raw and is still learning the game, his physical tools are undeniable.  At six-foot-nine he has a chiseled frame and tremendous upper body strength.  He is an equally impressive athlete, able to run the floor with speed and play high above the rim with his leaping ability.

Now those tools have made Coleman one of the best available big men in the national class of 2011 and college coaches are expected to swarm to Lee, Maine early in 2011 as a result.
