Class of ‘25 Commitment Catch Up pt. V

Prospects in the class of 2025 continue to make their college announcements as the school year nears an end. While this may be considered later than we’ve been used to, it’s evident the landscape of college and high school basketball as a whole has seen some change. Nevertheless, here are eight players you will see competing in a college uniform in the 2025-26 school year.

Wrapping up a historic career at Westport High School, Owen Boudria etched his name into the history books. The 6’1” guard led his Westport team to the Final Four of MIAA Division V this season with his high-level scoring ability. In the round of 32, he surpassed the 1,580 point mark, a school record set 19 years ago by Mike Noonan.

Boudria heads to Roger Williams in the fall.

Tone Williams capped off a historic season with Windsor High School last year, as he helped the squad bring home a state title. The wing fought back from a brutal leg injury that made a big impact on his recruitment. This season, he spent a postgraduate year under prep school legend Chris Chaney at the Academy of Central Florida.

Williams heads to Blinn College, a Division One JUCO, in hopes of playing his way to the scholarship level.

Sincere Monroe was a superstar for his Windsor Locks High team over the years and recently committed to play at the next level. The 5’9” guard put together quite a resume over his four years as a varsity starter: state champion, 2x All-State nominee and averages of 20.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.6 steals per game.

The quick floor general ships up to Massachusetts this fall to compete for Curry College.

Anthony Troncellito recently announced the acceptance of a scholarship to play at the next level. The 6’1” guard has plenty of experience under his belt, including winning a NEPSAC AA Championship at Bradford Christian. After a season up in Maine as a catalyst of Lee Academy, the sharpshooter earned a handful of Division II offers.

Troncellito heads down to New Jersey in the near future to compete in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference at Felician University.

6’4” forward Zane Brewer was an eyecatcher at the New England Open Gym last fall, and a player we knew would go on to play at the collegiate level. In his senior season, he surpassed Wheeler High’s career scoring mark and cemented his name in the history books.

The strong rebounder will head into Boston to play for Arlen Galloway at Wentworth Institute of Technology.

Yusuf Dakane was a standout talent throughout his high school career and joins a Maine powerhouse in the coming months. The aggressive, high energy guard started his playing career at Lewiston High School before heading down to Connecticut to play at the Pomfret School. He earned an All-NEPSAC Class B Honorable Mention this year.

Dakane is another terrific get for St. Joe’s College in Maine who looks to get right back to the NCAA Tournament next winter.

Emmitt Byther was a diamond in the rough in the small city of Old Town Maine. The big 6’6 forward seemingly lives in the weight room as he’s built like a defensive end, and uses his physicality to impact the court very well. Byther surpassed the 1,000 point mark this past February, while being a nightly double-double threat in the rebound column.

He joins Southern Maine in the Little East next year, as new Head Coach Mikey Coppersmith continues to prioritize standout Maine prospects.

Ben Miller’s sharpshooting skills have been well documented by our staff over the last calendar year. Once Miller gets in a rhythm he’s very hard to stop as we saw him wreak havoc in the scoring column at the Elite 75, the NEPSAC Showcase, and the ZGXL. He earned an All-NEPSAC Class C nomination this year under Sean Doherty at Hamden Hall.

Miller stays in Connecticut, just about a 45 minute drive away at the University of Hartford.
