Clark Chooses Wake Forest
Brewster Academy & New York Rens shooting guard Aaron Clark announced his commitment to Wake Forest last night.
Clark began his high school career at Easton. He was a part of the varsity in his first year, averaging 4.9 points in 2018-19. A major leap was taken in his sophomore season. Clark averaged 14 points and hit 45 three-pointers, helping his team make the District 11 6A semifinals and a state tournament appearance. He also earned Second-Team Eastern Pennsylvania Conference All-Star and Second-Team Morning Call All-Area honors that season.
Clark decided to make a move the next year to St. Benedict’s Prep in New Jersey. This came with also reclassifying into 2023. His 2020-21 season like many others was severely shortened due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
He came to New England in the fall of 2021 to attend Brewster. His first year in the region was a successful one. Clark earned regular minutes for a Bobcats squad that won the 2022 NEPSAC AAA Championship. Lakes Region League All-Star recognition was given to him for his performance as well.
Clark also has FIBA experience competing for Puerto Rico. He played in the 2021 U19 World Cup, averaging 14.4 points, 3.7 assists, and 3.1 rebounds.
His AAU ball was played with New York Rens on the Nike EYBL circuit. Unfortunately, he missed the majority of the club season with an injury but is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the upcoming high school season.
Clark explained in-depth why he picked Wake Forest on the 247Sports YouTube broadcast.“The loyalty they had, everything about the recruitment process was really real,” said Clark. “Being able to talk to these coaches and really have a bond, explaining stuff to them that I couldn’t explain to other coaches, and just seeing myself in their play style really sealed the deal for me.”
Clark becomes the ninth member of Brewster’s 2023 class who has finalized their plans to play division one college basketball next year.
