Cheshire Post-Grad Makes Pick

Cheshire Academy post-graduate swingman Wilfredo Rodriguez made a verbal commitment to Binghamton on Thursday, announcing his decision via his twitter account:

The six-foot-six swingman took an official visit to Binghamton last weekend and had accumulated numerous other division I offers during the course of his career.

Prior to arriving at Cheshire Academy for his post-graduate season, Rodriguez previously starred for East River High School in Orlando Florida where he accumulated over 2,000 points and 950 rebounds during the course of his four year career.

Rodriguez gained national media attention last spring when he picked up late interest from the likes of Rutgers, Connecticut, and Georgetown before ultimately deciding to pursue a post-graduate year.

A very good athlete with extremely long arms, Rodriguez is a pure scorer who can put the ball in the basket in a variety of ways.  He joins Marianapolis Prep forward Bobby Ahearn to become the second New England prep product to commit to the Bearcats in the 2014 recruiting class.

Here is a look at some of his highlights while starring with Team M.o.a.M. on the AAU circuit care of Scarberry Media Hoops:
