Caleb Crawford Heads To Maine

Last month, Loomis Chaffee/Riverside Hawks 6’1” point guard Caleb Crawford announced his commitment to the University of Maine.

Crawford has been on our radar for some time now, as he began earning recognition all the way back during the summers of 2020 and 2021. This included his performance with Riverside Hawks on the Be Seen Tour, catching our scouts’ attention in September of 2020, and again in July of 2021.

He really began turning heads during the 2021-22 season, as our scouts once again noted his performance in December, as he scored 17 in a win at the Scholar Roundball Classic. He earned All-NEPSAC Class-A Honorable Mention for his performance throughout the season.

Crawford once again stood out at the 2022 NEPSAC Showcase, as well as with Riverside Hawks throughout the spring/summer, earning numerous standout recognitions, including at the Super 16 Showcase in May.

He maintained his success into the 2022-23 season with Loomis, leading the game with 18 points in a big win over Newman Prep at the BasketBull Hoopfest in December.

This only continued, as he would ultimately earn both 2022-23 All-NEPSAC Class-A Honorable Mention and All-Founders League First Team recognition for his performance throughout the season. He once again continued his success into the grassroots season, earning Co-Player of the Game honors at the Northeast Hoop Festival in April with Riverside Hawks.

Crawford’s dominance has only continued throughout this past year. The 45% 3-point shooter has continued to improve his already-elite playmaking skills, making him a top-40 prospect out of Connecticut’s class of 2024.

It will be fun to see Caleb Crawford compete in the America East conference at the Division I level with the Maine Black Bears for the next chapter of his basketball career.
