BU Nabs Point Guard of the Future
First year Boston University head coach Joe Jones scored a coup yesterday when he earned a commitment from Maurice Watson, a five-foot-nine point guard from Boys Latin School in Philadelphia.
Watson was the driving force behind a Team Philly squad that saw tremendous success this summer and the point guard benefitted as a result, scoring 25 division I scholarship offers including Texas Tech and Virginia.
As good of an on-the-ball defender as he is a playmaker, what truly sets Watson apart is his toughness and leadership abilities. He joins Connecticut native John Papale, who pledged to BU last week, in the Terrier's 2012 recruiting class.
