Bridgton Point Guard Makes Pick
Bridgton Academy point guard Jarryn Skeete projected to be a very busy man coming out of the early signing period.
A savvy six-foot-two point guard with pure floor general skills and a high basketball I.Q., Skeete was projected to be one of the premier lead guards left on the board.
But that all changed on Tuesday when the University of Buffalo landed what could ultimately be remembered as a bit of a steal.
Skeete made a verbal commitment to Bulls’ head coach Reggie Witherspoon and was also expected to sign his National Letter of Intent before the end of the early signing period on Wednesday.
The commitment returns Skeete to within 90 minutes of his family’s home in Brampton, Ontario.
On the AAU circuit the cerebral point guard ran with a loaded CIA Bounce roster that featured many of the top prospects in Canada including Anthony Bennett, Negus Webster-Chan, Dyshawn Pierre, Stefan Jankovic, and more.
Skeete joins Stan Wier, a six-foot-three catch and shoot specialist who ran with the Albany City Rocks and spent last season at the La Lumiere School in Indiana, in Buffalo’s incoming 2012 class.
