Bramati Commits to West Chester
St. Thomas More and New Jersey Beasts forward Mirko Bramati recently announced his commitment to West Chester, a Division Two school that competes in the PSAC.
Bramati, a native of Italy, played his first year of United States high school basketball during the 2020-21 season at Paul VI in New Jersey. He earned a rotation spot on an Eagles squad that went 12-3 and had multiple current Division One players.
His final season in New Jersey before coming to New England took place at Morris Catholic. He helped the Crusaders win 21 games with averages of 13.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.3 steals, in addition to draining 36 treys.
Bramati chose to do a post-grad season at STM in NEPSAC AAA. He more than held his own against the elevated competition, earning a starting spot on a Chancellors team that won 19 games. Bramati additionally was a standout at this past November’s National Prep Showcase.
On the AAU circuit, he competed with the independent program New Jersey Beasts.
“Mirko is a very skilled wing who is multifaceted on the defensive end,” said STM head coach Jere Quinn. “He 100% plays a team game. Mirko is a high-level defender and an excellent passer. He chose a level where he will have tremendous success both on and off the court.”
“Mirko is a versatile defender who can hold his own on perimeter switches and use his hands well to kill guards’ momentum,” said STM associate head coach Milo Luciano. “He always makes the right pass and knocks it down when the ball comes back around. I believe he can provide a lot of versatility and plug a lot of roles at the PSAC level. It will be exciting to track his success.”
Bramati becomes the second member of STM’s 2023 class who has committed to playing college basketball at the scholarship level.
