Becky Bonner on The Upside Podcast
The latest episode of The Upside Podcast welcomed Becky Bonner, who is widely considered to be one of the leading candidates to be the first female General Manager in the NBA.
Bonner is currently the Director of Player Development and Basketball Operations for the Orlando Magic and previously spent six years working in the NBA league office where she worked internationally, traveling to 72 different countries to promote the game with initiatives like Basketball Without Borders and even USA Basketball.
She is also a New England native who grew up in Concord, New Hampshire as part of one of the region's most well-known basketball families. Older brother Matt played at Florida and then in the NBA for over a decade, winning two championships with the San Antonio Spurts. Younger brother Luke played at West Virginia and UMass before playing professionally abroad and is currently the CEO of PWRFWD, a brand that helps athletes turn their passions and performances into meaningful products. Becky played at Stanford and Boston University and then abroad before coaching at Maryland and Louisville prior to transitioning to the NBA.
